El Piloto en las Alpujarras

Vaya tantos caminos hay que andar y tantas causalidades hay que encontrar para finalmente llegar a realizar una idea!!
Pues, finalmente, este día super guapo de otoño en Octubre se llego a juntar todas las piezas para hacer las primeras grabaciones.

Las Piezas fueron:
Ivan -- técnico de sonido
Jorge-- técnico de Energía Solar
Rafa-- organizacion y producción
Cat -- directora musical y contacto local

Gracias a cada uno y al grupo de amigos que nos acompañó por dar su apoyo para que este día tan bonito llegó a ser.


La primera sesión fue una grabación en un Espacio Sonoro. Grabamos al coro de Ferreirola en la iglesia de este pueblo. Gracias al cura del pueblo por dejarnos grabar y gozar de la acústica natural y esplendida de este espacio tan importante para el pueblo.También gracias al coro por dejarnos grabarles y ir probando nuestro equipo por primera vez. Esperamos poder volver pronto para hacer mas grabaciones de ellos y de otros músicos en esta Iglesia.

La segunda sesión fue la primera grabación en un entorno natural utilizando la energía solar para alimentar al equipo de grabación. Grabamos a un cello y una flauta barroca.
Junto con un buen grupo de amigos montamos el equipo en la era del pueblo de Fondales y vimos que en este espacio tan precioso y con la gente perfecta, que si, esto si es posible.

La primera prueba ha funcionado. El equipo técnico funciona, el equipo humano funciona. Y gracias a la colaboración de los músicos y Cat que ha tenido la visión de ver las posibilidades de este proyecto, el piloto ha sido todo un éxito.

Trial Run / Alpujarra Mountains

After all the countless trails and causalities that had to occur over so many years the day finally came for the first recordings!!!
Here, on this wonderfully beautiful autumn day all the pieces came together to have a trial run to test out the equipment in the mountains south of Granada, the Alpujarras

The pieces were:
Ivan -- Sound Tech
Jorge -- Solar Power Tech
Rafa -- Organizatin and Production
Cat -- Musical director and local contact

Thanks to each one of them, and the group of friends that joined us, for offering their support so that this beautiful day came into being.



The first session was a Sound Space recording. It was the first try with the recording equipment on location and we recorded the local choir at the church of Ferreirola. We would like to thank the priest for letting us record and enjoy the amazing natural acoustics of this important monument for the local village. We also give great thanks to the local choir that came together at very quick notice and allowed us to fine tune our equipment while they sang. We hope to be back soon to do more recordings of them and other musicians in this church.

The second session that took place later this day was the first solar powered recording in a natural outdoor environment. We set up the equipment with the help of a good group of friends at the threshing circle outside the village of Fondales. We recorded a cello, a barroque flute and an alto sax. Here with the music coasting down the valley walls we finally saw that with the right people and enough effort that yes, this is all possible.

The trial run was a success. The sound equipment worked, the solar cells worked, and the human team worked. And thanks to the collaboration of the local musicians and Cat who had the vision to see the potential of this project, the journey has begun.

El concepto de Wapapura nació hace muchos años en las montañas y selvas de Sur América .

Es una idea de utilizar la fuerza de la música y el sonido para mejorar nuestra relación con la Tierra y sus Espacios Sonoros para enfrentar la destrucción ecológica y cultural de nuestros tiempos.

Introduction

The concept for Wapapura was born in the Jungles and Mountains of South America many years ago.

The idea is to utilize the power of sound and music to improve our relationship with the Earth and its Sound Spaces to try and confront the ecological and cultural destruction of our times.

Eventos Musicales con Energia Solar

El futuro de nuestra sociedad moderna depende de la transición hacia el uso de fuentes de energía renovables. Aquí en en el sur de España lo mas presente y lógico que tenemos a nuestra disposicion es la energia solar.

Con el apoyo de una empresa de instalaciones de energia solar de Granada montamos escenarios que utilizan la energía de baterías cargadas con placas solares. Haciendo esto queremos mostrar que es posible seguir gozando de actos culturales con la utilización de energías renovables.

Dicho esto, con el cambio de la fuente de energía hay que cambiar la forma habitual de espectáculo. Habitualmente no se piensa en la cantidad de energía que alimenta un escenario, se utiliza toda la iluminación y equipos de sonido deseados. Los escenarios que montamos utilizan la ilumnicaión y el sonido necesarios, teniendo en cuenta lo que gastamos de la energía disponible en las baterías presentes.

Con estos tipos de escenarios pretendemos demonstrar que el cambio es posible pero cambiando la conciencia del gasto energético y su impacto en el medio ambiente en todas nuestras actividades.

Junto con estos conciertos se pueden incluir actividades educativas sobre el medio ambiente y el respeto por la naturaleza.

Solar Powered Music Events

The future of modern society depends on our transition to the use of renewable energy sources. Each place on the Earth has its local source that power can be generated from. Here in southern Spain the most obvious and available is the Sun.

With the support of a local Solar Power installation company of Granada we will set up stages that use the energy from batteries charged with solar panels. By doing this we wish to demonstrate that it is possible to continue enjoying concerts and other cultural activities while using renewable energy sources.

Having said this, with the change of the energy source there also has to be a change in the usual environment of the concert experience. Usually without having to think of how much energy is being spent to power a stage, or even where the energy is coming from, we have grown accustomed to huge and very wasteful lighting and sound set ups. The stages and events we will be organizing will have to take into account the amount of power available to us with the batteries we have present and therefore use only the light and sound equipment necessary to have an enjoyable musical experience.

With these types of stages we hope to demonstrate that change is possible but only by also changing the perception of what a musical event is supposed to look like by taking into account the environmental impact all of our activities have.

Along with these concerts it will be possible to include educational activities about the environment and respect for the Earth.

Grabaciones en Espacios Sonoros

Un espacio sonoro es cualquier lugar donde el sonido de la música aumenta la experiencia de estar en el lugar. Puede ser por acústica o por belleza natural o incluso por su importancia para la cultura local. Simplemente es el hecho de disfrutar de la música en lugares que por su belleza o significado sean atractivos para escucharla y devolver la importancia del espacio a la música. Relación que se ha ido perdiendo en los útlimos años.

Nosotros iremos con un equipo de grabación digital de última generación tecnológica a estos lugares para hacer grabaciones y así poder compartir la musica que sale de estos eventos con quien quiera adquirirla.

También se pretende dar una oportunidad a músicos que normalmente no tienen la oportunidad de conseguir una grabación de ellos mismos e incluso una grabación realizada alli donde viven, donde su interpretación resulta más auténtica.
